Located where the Priest River flows into the Pend Oreille River in the Panhandle of Idaho. We are located 22 miles from Sandpoint the county seat, 6 miles to the Washington border and Priest River is the gateway to Priest Lake only 30 miles away. We are a recreation paradise with great fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, downhill and cross country skiing, boating, swimming, rafting, four wheeling, biking, and hiking

The nearest cities are Spokane and Coeur d’Alene, both approximately 50 miles to the South. The population of Priest River is approximately 1800 with another 3500 in the surrounding area and about 39,000 in all of Bonner County.

The elevation of Priest River is about 2100 feet. We have weather for everyone no matter what kind you like. We have great summers where we get nice warm weather and yet it cools down nicely in the evenings. We have approximately 72 inches of snowfall per year with rarely more than two feet on the ground.

Our town has an airport with 3000 feet of lighted runway. The nearest hospitals are located 7 miles west in Newport, Washington and 22 miles east in Sandpoint, Idaho. We also have great hospitals it Coeur d’Alene and Spokane with Heart Flight in place for emergencies.
